The Mamas & The Papas - Twelve Thirty (Young Girls Are Coming To The Canyon)

The Mamas & The Papas had a string of hits in the mid-60's, of which "California Dreamin'" is the best-known. Songwriter and band-leader John Phillips had a knack for writing excellent pop music, and the 1968 single "Twelve Thirty" is another good example. The harmonies are of course faultless, sung in four voices by Phillips and his wife Michelle, "Mama" Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty, and the melody as nice as they come.
