Erik's musical Advent calendar: The Band - Christmas Must Be Tonight

OK, the title is not accurate. It's still only December 15th, so Christmas is definitely not tonight, but The Band's 1977 classic is one of the best of the lot. It's by far the most memorable song on their swansong, the not at all fantastic Islands album. Songwriter Robbie Robertson also re-recorded "Christmas Must Be Tonight" for the soundtrack to the 1988 Bill Murray comedy Scrooged, maybe the funniest Christmas movie ever filmed, based of course, on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
