Pet Shop Boys - Two Divided By Zero

It's strange to ponder opening tracks on albums. It's easy to expect them to be among the best tracks, if not the very best, but more often than not it's not the case. Pet Shop Boys is one of my all-time favourite bands, and their debut album Please opened with "Two Divided By Zero", in many ways typical of the duo's output, but a so-so song compared to what follows immediately after, which are four great singles - "West End Girls", "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money)", "Love Comes Quickly" and "Suburbia". Seen in that context "Two Divided By Zero" is what I'd call an "interesting" choice for the first song off a debut album. Still, I like it a lot, but it's certainly no "West End Girls".
