Kacey Musgraves - Merry Go 'Round

Kacey Musgraves is a young American country singer whose debut (?) single "Merry Go 'Round" was released last September. Unfortunately I just heard it today, as it would definitely have made my top 50 of 2012. It's a bulls-eye description of the hypocrisy of American rural life where you're supposed to have two kids at 21 and piously go to church each Sunday even if you don't mean anything by it. The song which is a laidback little country ballad was co-written with Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, but I really hope that's it's got most of Kacey in it, as she could be one of the major new talents in the business. She sounds a bit like Taylor Swift did when she recorded her debut album, and Kacey Musgraves' first album should appear some time in 2013. I for one, am looking forward to it.
