Pat Benatar - Love Is A Battlefield

Of course, when you're born Patricia Mae Andrzejewski, you are looking for a new name when turning to the world of pop music. Thus Patricia became Pat Benatar and enjoyed huge successes in her native America and beyond during the 1980's. "Love Is A Battlefield" was a big hit in 1983, written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight, with a fabulous arrangement that truly goes beyond the AOR format she belonged to, adding electronic elements into the mix that somehow still manage to sound fresh. The video shows a "teenage" Benatar (she was 30) running away from home, coming to the mean New York streets, becoming a working girl in a seedy bar, before rebelling against a pimp, and along with the rest of the girls, leaving the joint to turn their lives around. Cliche as hell, but well-made, and the last Michael Jackson-inspired part is great.

Watch and listen
