Dire Straits' eponymous 1978 debut album is rightly regarded as a classic, and songs such as "Six Blade Knife" really shows how indebted Mark Knopfler is to JJ Cale. With its laidback groove and exceedingly cool guitar licks, this is early Dire Straits at their very best. It was also used to chilling effect in Robert Rodriguez' fabulous 1995 film Desperado.
